The Master Room

This room initially started off as the baby's room, which Oliver and Evan shared. Actually no, it started off as a storage room/bedroom for Carter when we first moved in. Three walls were covered in pine tree wall paper with borders that had moose and bears all over it, one wall had a mural wallpaper on it, the bottom half of the walls and the closet were painted a dark red, the ceiling a mint green and I won't even talk about the nasty stained carpet. We were in the process of fixing up the room at the top of the stairs for Carter so this was just where he slept until it was complete or at least complete enough for him to stay in, because lets face it I was pregnant at this point and once it was good enough for him to sleep in I was over it.

Back to this room, once Carter was moved into his room this room was then painted yellow by my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I had painted Curious George pictures and had them custom framed with I was pregnant with Carter back in 2006. I saved them and used them for Oliver and then Evan's baby room. This room also has a small but manageable closet. Here is the room as it was a baby room.

SO, when we moved into this room it was yellow for about a year and a half before I just couldn't take it anymore. The trim was actually stained a pretty color but I was envisioning white trim through the house and even though this room was the only one with matching and pretty trim didn't make it exempt from my paint brush.

THE AFTER
I love this room now. I am relaxed when I go to bed, it isn't a storage unit anymore but a place I can go to wind down and catch a good nights sleep.

Come back to see what I do to the night stands that were Great Uncle Henry's and have rightfully earned a place in this house.
